Mood: needing time out
22nd February 2003
Windsurfing: Porthcawl - Newton
Wind Direction: E
Wind Stength: F4-5
Surf / Sea State: flat to steep chop
Air Temperature: 9 deg
Sea Temperature: bloody cold
Weather: bootiful
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Got stuck in the bloody rugby international traffic on the M4 - took nearly 2 hrs to get there, arriving @ 14:00.

Wind was up & down - I was going to go out on the JP Wave 78, with 5.5m, but decided there wasn't enough wind - there were some serious lulls.

In the end, it was fine with the 6.2 on the 260 Bee - a little underpowered in the lulls, overpowered in one or two of the gusts.

I've never sailed Newton at such low water before - It was one hell of a walk back @ 16:00 (LW @ 16:10) when I packed up, & there were exposed rocks where I didn't realise there were rocks - right down the middle of the bay, for a long way out.

Not a bad session - worth the drive.
